Golden day in Golden Gate Park

Yawn - long day today! Cinthia & I drove into San Francisco this morning, and hauled our hoops into a big meadow for the 5th annual "Power to the Peaceful" festival. By early afternoon, there was a crowd of twenty or so thousand, with our hula hooping space carved out right in the center. I hoop danced the whole afternoon, regardless of what was happening on stage. Actually, I did stop just once, when Ram Dass came out lead a moment of meditation. For that, I went still.

We had at least a dozen hoops, and all of them were kept constantly spinning throughout this beautiful fog-free day in the park. As soon as someone dropped one, someone else was waiting in the wings to take it up. Bay Area Hoop regulars Amy, Vera & Philo were there, but we also turned a whole bunch of new folks on to our favorite pastime. None of us brought a camera to capture the scene, but we were heavily photographed & videotaped by passersby...so images are out there somewhere, for what little that's worth.
