Yesterday was the annual Power to the Peaceful festival in Golden Gate Park. (And what, my friends, is better than a free concert in Golden Gate Park?!) Like last year, the weather was perfect, but unlike last year, I knew tons of people there. People I spent time with at all of this summer's great events — from Hornings to High Sierra to Vegas to Coventry to Burning Man — they were all there. So heartwarming to see so many friends in one place.
And the musical lineup was pretty great, too: Xavier Rudd, John Bulter Trio, Gift of Gab, String Cheese Incident, and then Michael Franti & Spearhead wrapping it up. It was my 8th time seeing String Cheese this summer, but as you may have gathered, I just can't get enough. And although I usually don't like to mix my music & my politics, I enjoyed Franti more than ever.
After it was all over, I scampered around saying goodbye to people. When I took my leave from Helen & Kevin, he quipped: "Don't do anything I wouldn't do, but if you do, be sure it's well documented!"
