Lighting up
About a dozen people came over earlier this evening, and we all FIRE-HOOPED in my backyard. It was quite spectacular. Vera, Maryann & Aimee all brought their fire-hoops, and we took turns dipping the kevlar wicks in kerosene, lighting up & letting it rip.
The photos are lovely, but what you can't see is the sound, the lucious WHOOOSH of the flames spinning fast around you. It was so intoxicating, even the initally wary Jiwon did it. Yay for all of us!

Posted by: Philo on September 15, 2004 10:12 AMyou aren't supposed to say that! ;0) i told my mom "no, nothing gets burned. the pix make it look "cool" 'cuz they blur the flame but the flames are on 1' spokes from the hoop so they're far away from you."
