What I Did Today
by Jason S.
After a simple breakfast, I spent the morning gardening, dividing succulent clumps and doing some cleanup outside. For lunch, Jiwon & I went to Chez Panisse, the birthplace of California Cuisine. We had a $50 gift certificate, but even without wine or dessert, our lunch was $67. (And it was pretty damn good.)
We went around the corner for an espresso at Peet's, ran into Donovan & Amy, then proceeded up into the hills to Inspiration Point. Jiwon & I rode our bikes along the Bay Area Ridge Trail for a couple of hours. As we rolled up and down along the ridgeline, the views to the east were of Mt. Diablo, the Contra Costa hills and the reservoirs. And the views to the west were of San Francisco and the Golden Gate, half buried in fog, Angel Island, Mt. Tam and the rest of Marin. As we rode further north, San Pablo Bay opened up before us. Such a beautiful ride.
Feeling more refreshed than tired, we decided to be hardcore and go directly to yoga. We had our mats, towels, water and skimpy yoga clothes with us, and we made it down just in time for the 6:15 Bikram class at Funky Door.
I had a great class (Lock the knee! Pull! Pull harder!), and the always inspiring instructor Steve gave me two helpful adjustments. Sweated about a gallon. Showered after class. Back home around nine, I prepared dinner. Then we ate it. Then thought about going to a party...but it's too late now, and I'm too sleepy.
The End
