Permaculture

The term "permaculture" was created by the Australian ecologist Bill Mollision to put a name to the practice of creating and maintaining landscapes of "permanent agriculture". With permaculture, ecologically-sound, diverse ecosystems are also food production systems. The advantages of a perennial, edible landscape are self-evident to anyone interested in growing more of their own food.

In the past twenty years, permaculture has developed from a method of food production into a broad philosophy of design: the creation of sustainable human systems with the inspiration of ecosystems. The resources below cover both the practical and the philosophical.
